Norwegian-listed investment company Bewi Invest has changed its name to Bevest following approval at the company’s annual general meeting last week.

The name change has now been registered in public records, the company said in a stock exchange filing on Monday. The proposal was approved by shareholders on 4 June.

Bevest is a long-term investment company with interests in industrial production, seafood and real estate. Its portfolio includes a 51.1% stake in packaging and insulation group BEWI, as well as investments in salmon farmer Sinkaberg and aquaculture technology supplier Fiizk.

The company is led by chief executive Bjørnar André Ulstein. The Bekken family, through Bekken Invest, is the controlling shareholder.

The business traces its roots to the Bekken family’s industrial activities on Frøya. BEWI was founded in 1980 producing expanded polystyrene fish boxes for Norway’s salmon farming industry, while Bewi Invest was established in 2017 as the family’s investment vehicle.
