UK Seafood Federation launches tier 2 membership level.

The UK Seafood Federation (UKSF) has launched a new tier 2 membership category, welcoming its first two members: Thistle Seafoods and Unibond Seafood International.

Thistle Seafoods, a major seafood processor operating two sites in Scotland, has joined the main UKSF board. Unibond Seafood International, a leading seafood importer, has joined at the tier 2 level, providing access to UKSF working groups that feed into the federation’s main board.

Ryan Scatterty, CEO of Thistle Seafoods, said the company was “pleased to be joining UKSF main board alongside other leading UK seafood processors and traders,” and looks forward to contributing to the federation’s mission and strategic objectives.

Jason Parsons of Unibond Seafood International welcomed the opportunity to participate in the Policy & Trade sub-group, calling it an important step for the business.

UKSF Chairperson Simon Smith said: “We are delighted to have Thistle Seafoods join our main board and, following the launch of our tier 2 level membership, welcoming Unibond. We look forward to their participation in our sub-groups and representing their wider seafood processing and trade interests.”

UKSF, launched in January 2025, focuses on industry-wide issues such as skills development, sustainability, trade flows, ethics, and sector reputation.
