Stable or a small increase for next week’s salmon price

Spot prices remain more or less the same after last week’s rise.

“It is stable for the coming week. However, next week we know that there will be more fish,” said a buyer to SalmonBusiness.[factbox]

“We have to pay the same price as last Friday.”

“There are a lot of small fish. I had feared the worse,” he added.

Large price movements are not reported so far today.

“I hear there is more fish being harvested, but we have not sold anything,” said a fish farmer.

However, one exporter sees slightly rising prices.

“There is upward pressure, but short-lived as there is enormous growth and good lice conditions at the moment,” he said. “So when the new month begins to approach, I think it will go down a lot.

“Stable plus,” said an importer about the movements in the salmon price for next week. “I hear it’s pretty good availability of small fish next week. It may have something to do with the lice situation. I do not know. At least there is some pressure in Central Norway.”

“Otherwise it is quiet, holiday quiet,” he said about the salmon market in Europe. “It has been very hot. And the corona is in bloom again. It is noticeable,” he added.

SalmonBusiness’ industrial sources refer to the following farmgate prices for salmon to be delivered next week:
