Garware Technical Fibres to acquire Norway’s Offshore & Trawl Supply.

Garware Technical Fibres Limited (GTFL), an India-based manufacturer of engineered polymer solutions, has announced the acquisition of Norwegian rope manufacturer Offshore & Trawl Supply AS (OTS) through its UK subsidiary.

The deal forms part of GTFL’s strategy to expand its presence in Europe and enhance its product offering in offshore, aquaculture, and commercial fishing segments. A share purchase agreement has been signed for the full acquisition of OTS, which is headquartered in Valderøya, near Ålesund, Norway.

OTS is known for its advanced synthetic rope solutions used across offshore oil and gas, aquaculture, and marine and commercial fishing. The company has established a strong reputation in the North Sea region, supported by a team of experienced engineers and sector specialists.

“This acquisition marks a key milestone in Garware’s global growth trajectory and reinforces its commitment to delivering innovative, high-performance solutions to customers around the world,” said Vayu Garware, Chairman and Managing Director of Garware Technical Fibres.

Garware described the acquisition as a strategic alignment with its mission to deliver locally relevant, globally scalable innovations. “OTS is known for its engineering excellence and industry-leading solutions in Norway. Together, we can expand its global reach and accelerate innovation in this area,” Garware added.

OTS CEO Stein Frode Dulling-Ness welcomed the acquisition. “For our team, the opportunity to further develop OTS’s strengths with the support that GTFL will provide is highly motivating and, in our view, key to the growth of our business,” he said.

Founded by Rolf Arne Gtskeadegard and his management team, OTS brings a 50-year legacy and close customer relationships across European offshore sectors.

GTFL, headquartered in Pune, India, operates globally across aquaculture, geosynthetics, sports, and industrial applications. The acquisition will add Norwegian technical expertise and support GTFL’s ambition to grow its footprint in the North Atlantic and European aquaculture and offshore markets.
