Cost efficiencies lift Mowi’s Q2 results above expectations

Mowi harvests 133,000 tonnes in Q2, beating guidance on lower costs

Mowi harvested 133,000 tonnes (GWT) of salmon in the second quarter of 2025, exceeding its earlier guidance of 130,000 tonnes. This compares with 110,000 tonnes in the same quarter last year.

Harvest volumes by region were:

  • Norway: 72.5k tonnes

  • Scotland: 24.0k tonnes

  • Chile: 15.5k tonnes

  • Canada: 9.5k tonnes

  • Ireland: 5.0k tonnes

  • Faroes: 4.5k tonnes

  • Iceland (Arctic Fish): 2.0k tonnes

Operational EBIT for the group in Q2 was approximately €189 million (NOK 2,206 million), supported by improved cost performance. Blended farming cost fell to €5.39 per kg, down from €5.84 in Q2 2024 and €5.89 in Q1 2025.

Operational EBIT per kg was:

  • Norway: €1.90

  • Scotland: €1.30

  • Chile: €1.15

  • Canada: €0.25

  • Ireland: €0.20

  • Faroes: €0.90

  • Iceland: (€2.20), reflecting low volumes

Mowi’s Consumer Products division posted an operational EBIT of €52 million, while the Feed segment recorded operational EBITDA of €14 million.

Net interest-bearing debt, excluding IFRS 16 effects, stood at approximately €1.895 billion at the end of the quarter.
