Manolin launches cage-level harvest and treatment forecasting tools.

Manolin has released a major update to its Watershed platform, introducing a Harvest Forecaster and Sea Lice Treatment Recommender powered by 19 new models.

The company said the models deliver 90-day, cage-level projections with accuracy between 85 and 97 percent, trained on data from more than 265 million smolts across 2,400 cages. Forecasts cover biomass, expected quality and price to support harvest planning, while clustering methods establish farm-specific normal ranges to guide sea lice treatment decisions.

“Our ability to launch this many cage-level models comes from doing the unglamorous work of cleaning and structuring farm data for advanced modeling,” said John Costantino, chief technology officer. “By tying all past events and normalized product usages to each population we are able to forecast and recommend on the reality of what is going on in a cage rather than the perception.”

Chief executive Tony Chen said the workflows aim to support more prescriptive decision-making. “With biomass forecasts, we’ve found that getting the best result requires modeling many interdependent patterns,” he said.

The new tools are available immediately to customers on the Watershed platform.
