Veramaris partners with Merwetank on algae oil storage facility.

Veramaris has entered into a partnership with Dutch bulk logistics company Merwetank to build a dedicated algae oil storage tank in Dordrecht, near Rotterdam.

The facility, expected to be operational in the fourth quarter of 2025, will enable bulk deliveries of Veramaris’ algae oil to European aquafeed producers. The company said the development will improve supply security, reduce logistics costs and integrate algae oil into existing raw material supply chains.

Merwetank will operate the food-grade storage tank, which includes systems designed to maintain product quality.

Holger Kinzel, CFO of Veramaris, said the new setup will bring the product closer to customers’ existing supply chains and support the growth of bulk deliveries.

Veramaris’ algae oil, certified under ASC-MSC and FAMI-QS standards, is used as a source of omega-3 EPA and DHA in aquafeed. Merwetank holds FSSC 22000 and GMP+ certifications.
