Trout exports rise 10 per cent in September.
Norway exported 8,400 tonnes of trout worth NOK 681 million ($66.1 million) in September, according to figures from the Norwegian Seafood Council. The value was up NOK 64 million, or 10 per cent, compared with the same month last year, while volumes rose 12 per cent.
The United States, Ukraine and Thailand were the largest markets in September. Ukraine recorded the strongest growth, with export value increasing by NOK 40 million, or 64 per cent, to 1,441 tonnes, a 59 per cent rise in volume compared with September 2024.
For the third quarter, trout exports totalled 26,601 tonnes worth NOK 2 billion ($194 million). This represented a 7 per cent increase in volume but only a marginal value increase of NOK 3 million year-on-year. The United States, Ukraine and Lithuania were the main destinations during the quarter.
