ASC feed requirement takes effect for ASC-certified farms.

The Aquaculture Stewardship Council said that from 31 October 2025 all ASC-certified farms are required to use ASC-conforming feed produced by ASC-certified feed mills.

Chief executive Chris Ninnes said the change follows several years of work across ingredients, feed and farming supply chains.

According to ASC, there were 22 certified feed mills across nine countries at the end of 2024. The organisation now counts more than 100 feed mills in the programme across 28 countries.

ASC said the requirement is intended to advance a responsible aquaculture supply chain by aligning farm certification with certified feed inputs.
