Gigante Salmon appoints new CFO as company expands management team.
Gigante Salmon has appointed Benny Hansen as Chief Financial Officer, effective 1 February 2026.
Hansen, born in 1978, joins the company from EY, where he served as Senior Manager. He holds qualifications in fisheries economics, business, and accounting/auditing, and is based in Bodø, his hometown of Røst.
Current CFO Rune Johansen, who has held the position since Gigante Salmon’s listing on Euronext Growth Oslo, will move into a newly created role as Chief Investor Relations Officer (CIRO), responsible for the company’s investor relations.
Chief executive Kjell Lorentsen said the management changes are part of strengthening the leadership team in line with the company’s growth. “With Benny as CFO, we are strengthening the team with a person who has solid experience in financial management, reporting and control,” Lorentsen said.
Johansen will remain part of the management group and continue to oversee communication with investors.
Gigante Salmon is developing a land-based salmon farming facility at Lille Indre Rosøy in Rødøy, Norway, based on a flow-through system designed to combine the advantages of conventional and land-based aquaculture while reducing challenges associated with sea-based farming.
