VESO takes majority stake in aquaculture analytics firm Salmalytics.

VESO has acquired 51 percent of the shares in Norwegian analytics company Salmalytics, in a deal aimed at strengthening both firms’ offerings in documentation, clinical studies and data analysis for the aquaculture sector.

Salmalytics, founded in 2020, provides study design, trial execution, data analysis and decision-support modelling for fish farmers, suppliers and technology developers. The company’s team has backgrounds in veterinary medicine, biology, epidemiology and aquaculture.

“The partnership gives us the opportunity to further develop our services, while maintaining our own organization and way of working,” said Arnfinn Aunsmo, managing director of Salmalytics.

VESO is an established provider of fish health and veterinary services, including contract research, product documentation and regulatory consulting through its VESO Aqualab unit.

“Salmalytics has expertise that complements our services and gives us better conditions for comprehensive deliveries, especially within clinical studies and statistical calculations,” said Bjørn Skjævestad, CEO of VESO.

The two companies plan to collaborate on further developing their service portfolio, with the aim of offering more integrated and efficient processes to aquaculture customers. Both firms highlight their combined technical competence and industry experience as key to addressing sector challenges.

The acquisition became effective on 24 November 2025.
