Bakkafrost: harvests 31,000 tonnes in Q1

Bakkafrost harvested a total of 31,300 tonnes head-on gutted (HOG) salmon in the first quarter of 2026, according to a trading update published by the Faroese salmon farmer..

Harvest volumes in the Faroe Islands reached 25,100 tonnes in the quarter, with monthly harvests of 8,300 tonnes in January, 7,700 tonnes in February and 9,200 tonnes in March. Average harvest weight for the quarter was 5.8 kg.

In Scotland, harvest volumes totalled 6,200 tonnes in the period, rising from 1,300 tonnes in January to 2,100 tonnes in February and 2,800 tonnes in March. Average harvest weight was 6.4 kg.

Incident-based mortality costs in the farming segment were reported at DKK 0 million in the Faroe Islands and DKK 2 million in Scotland.

Smolt releases in the freshwater segment totalled 3.9 million fish in the Faroe Islands and 1.0 million fish in Scotland during the quarter. Incident-based mortality costs in freshwater were DKK 0 million in the Faroe Islands and DKK 15 million in Scotland.

In the fishmeal, oil and feed segment, Bakkafrost sourced 51,000 tonnes of marine raw material in the quarter. Feed sales totalled 35,400 tonnes, while fishmeal sales reached 1,200 tonnes. No fish oil sales were recorded.
