Land-based salmon producer Nordic Aqua Partners harvested 771 tonnes head-on gutted (HOG) in the first quarter of 2026, reporting higher volumes, larger fish and an improved superior share.

Average harvest weight reached 4.4 kg HOG, equivalent to 5.4 kg live weight, with a superior rate of 95%, the company said in an operational update.

Production during the quarter totalled 2,161 tonnes, lifting standing biomass to 4,991 tonnes as the company continues ramping up output at its land-based facility in Ningbo, China.

Nordic Aqua said biological performance remained strong, with good fish health, high survival rates and no signs of maturation.

Construction of the company’s Stage 2 expansion is close to completion, with fish now transferred into all grow-out recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) units. The first harvest from Stage 2 fish is expected in September 2026.

Nordic Aqua Partners is developing a land-based salmon facility in Ningbo with a planned production capacity of 20,000 tonnes HOG annually once fully built.
