Mowi reported a record first-quarter harvest volume of 136,000 tonnes gutted weight equivalent (GWT), up 26 percent from 108,000 tonnes in the same period last year.

The figure was also ahead of the company’s previous guidance of 128,000 tonnes issued alongside its fourth-quarter 2025 results.

Harvest volumes by region were led by Norway at 75,500 tonnes, followed by Chile at 21,000 tonnes, Scotland at 20,500 tonnes, Canada at 8,000 tonnes, Iceland at 6,000 tonnes, the Faroes at 3,000 tonnes and Ireland at 2,000 tonnes.

Operational EBIT for the group was approximately EUR 221 million (NOK 2.52 billion), based on an exchange rate of NOK 11.39 to the euro.

Blended farming cost was EUR 5.46 per kilo in the quarter, down from EUR 5.89 per kilo in Q1 2025, representing a reduction of EUR 0.43 per kilo.

Mowi said an algae bloom in Southern Norway negatively impacted costs by around EUR 10 million, equivalent to EUR 0.13 per kilo on Norwegian volumes.

Operational EBIT per kilo by farming region was highest in Norway at EUR 2.40, followed by Scotland at EUR 1.50, the Faroes at EUR 0.95, Chile and Iceland at EUR 0.35, Ireland at EUR 0.10, while Canada posted a negative EUR 0.10 per kilo.

Operational EBIT in Consumer Products was EUR 20 million, while Feed delivered operational EBITDA of EUR 6 million.

Reported net interest-bearing debt, excluding IFRS 16 effects, stood at approximately EUR 2.74 billion at the end of the quarter.

The full Q1 2026 report is scheduled for release on 13 May.
