Nova Sea has taken delivery of a new hybrid workboat, “Laksholmen”, from Damen Folla.
The vessel is of the FollaPower 50 EL type and is yard number 104 from the builder’s facility in Flatanger. It is the sixth vessel of this design delivered to Nova Sea and part of a wider series of 23 vessels supplied by Damen Folla to the company.
“Laksholmen” is constructed as a 15 by 8 metre aluminium monohull, designed for aquaculture operations. It is equipped with a hybrid propulsion system including two 180 kW electric motors, a 444 kWh battery pack, a generator and two electric thrusters.
According to the yard, the system is designed to optimise energy use while ensuring redundancy and operational efficiency.
The vessel has been put into operation and will be based in Stokkvågen in Lurøy municipality, Nordland.
