Gigante Salmon has lowered its 2027 harvest volume and cost guidance following higher-than-expected mortality in its 2025 generation.
The company now expects 2027 harvest volumes of 8,000–8,500 tonnes, down from its previous target of 10,600 tonnes. Expected EBIT cost guidance has also been revised upwards to approximately NOK 60–65 per kilo HOG, compared with earlier guidance of NOK 58/kg HOG.
Gigante Salmon said the downgrade was primarily linked to elevated mortality in fish stocked during late 2024. Around one million fish were stocked as late as November 2024, contributing to winter ulcer challenges and lower biomass available for harvest in 2027.
The company said the reduced biomass had also negatively affected cost efficiency.
Gigante Salmon added that operational and biological measures have been implemented to improve performance in future generations, while cautioning that the updated estimates remain subject to biological development and operational uncertainty.
The company said the lower harvest volumes and higher cost levels are expected to negatively impact financial performance in 2027 compared with previous expectations.
