Bio Marine has been selected to supply an oxygenation system for Thor Salmon’s new land-based salmon farming facility in Thorlakshöfn, Iceland.
The delivery will be carried out in collaboration with Maris and marks another contract for Bio Marine in the Nordic land-based aquaculture sector, the company said.
According to Bio Marine, the oxygenation system is designed to help maintain stable oxygen levels in the facility, supporting fish welfare, growth and production stability.
The company said a consistent oxygen supply can reduce stress, improve feed utilisation and help avoid fluctuations that could negatively affect biological processes.
Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
