AKVA group expands Icelandic footprint with new salmon module.

AKVA group has signed a new contract with Icelandic company Laxey for the delivery of a land-based post-smolt module, the company announced on Monday.

The module will form part of a re-use grow-out facility for Atlantic salmon at Vestmannaeyjar, off the south coast of Iceland. The contract is valued at approximately €8.5 million.

The agreement strengthens AKVA group’s footprint in land-based aquaculture solutions, continuing its focus on post-smolt technology for sustainable production.

AKVA group is headquartered in Norway and supplies technology and services to both land-based and sea-based aquaculture operations worldwide. The company said the delivery is in line with its commitment to sustainability and fish welfare through operational innovation.
