Veramaris names new CEO and CCO as it enters next growth phase.
Algal-oil producer Veramaris announced leadership changes as it prepares for an expansion of partnerships and operations amid rising global demand for Omega-3 EPA & DHA in aquafeed.
Mark van Nieuwland has been appointed chief executive officer, effective 1 January 2026, succeeding Gertjan de Koning. Van Nieuwland will join in November to support a handover. Holger Kinzel will continue as CFO/COO, a role he has held for the past three years.
The company also named Ian Carr chief commercial officer, effective 1 November 2025. Carr has led global marketing and has been with Veramaris for seven years. In board changes, Philip Eykerman, president strategy, M&A and transformation at dsm-firmenich, has succeeded Andre Bos as president of the Veramaris board, effective 1 November 2025.
Veramaris said algae oil is now a mainstream aquafeed ingredient and the company will focus on scaling supply, deepening value-chain partnerships and supporting customers with predictable performance and certified sustainable Omega-3s. The firm reiterated its mission to close the Omega-3 supply gap for aquaculture through ASC-MSC-certified algal oil.
