AquaGen retains Knut Røflo to lead Norway operations.

AquaGen has appointed Tom Eirik Aasjord as its new group chief executive, effective 1 January 2026. He joins from Nova Sea, where he served as CEO prior to the company’s acquisition by Mowi.

Aasjord has held several senior roles at Nova Sea and previously worked at Mainstream Norway. He has also been closely involved in the development of Nordnorsk Stamfisk, first as general manager and later as chair, the company said.

AquaGen stated that the combination of operational farming experience and strategic leadership capability was central to the recruitment process. The creation of the group CEO role forms part of a wider restructuring of the company.

The aim of the restructuring is to strengthen execution capacity and market position while developing the group in line with its long-term ambitions. Chair Odd Magne Rødseth said the appointment adds capacity in innovation and operational management and provides a strong foundation for the future.

Current CEO Knut Røflo will continue in the business with responsibility for AquaGen Norway under the new structure.

Aasjord said he looks forward to joining the company and contributing to its further development, adding that the new organisational model provides a solid basis for future growth.
