Stavanger conference strengthens its team with two new recruits.

Aquaculture technology conference producer AquaNext has expanded its team with the addition of two new members, Eivind Haugsland and Margrethe Øen, who will serve as Key Account Staff and Project Staff, respectively.

Both Haugsland and Øen are recent graduates in civil engineering with a specialization in aquaculture from the University of Bergen.

Eivind Haugsland joins AquaNext with a diverse background in the aquaculture sector, including experience as a farmer at Mowi and involvement in regulatory and partnership projects at Engineering IDS. In his new role as Key Account employee, Haugsland will primarily focus on EXPO, leveraging his practical aquaculture experience and insights into innovative product realization.

Margrethe Øen, appointed as a Project employee, will concentrate on the conference section at AquaNext. Øen brings organizational experience from her role as team leader for Salmon City, an event designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the aquaculture industry.

Her industry experience includes positions at Lerøy Sjøtroll as a service boat sailor and operations technician on hatchery fish. Øen has gained valuable insights into recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) and disease analysis from her time at Pharmaq Analytiq.

Their appointments are part of AquaNext’s strategy to integrate academic knowledge, practical experience, and a drive for technological innovation into its team, strengthening the company’s position in the aquaculture sector, according to a release from the company on Thursday.
