Average harvest weight rises to 3.1kg as Atlantic Sapphire reports strong biomass growth

Atlantic Sapphire reports increased harvest and biomass growth in Q1 2025

Florida land-based salmon farmer Atlantic Sapphire harvested 1,319 tonnes head-on gutted (HOG) salmon in the first quarter of 2025, up from 670 tonnes in Q4 2024, according to a trading update issued Wednesday. The company also reported the culling of 154 tonnes of small fish as part of previously announced adjustments to align biomass with current feed capacity.

Net biomass gain for the period was approximately 1,449 tonnes round live weight (RLW), compared with 1,150 tonnes in the previous quarter. Standing biomass at quarter-end totalled 2,997 tonnes RLW, down from 3,180 tonnes in Q4.

The company reported favourable biological conditions during the quarter, with low mortality, stable water quality and temperatures, and increased harvest weight. The average harvest weight rose to 3.1 kg HOG, up from 2.4 kg in Q4. Average realised sales price was USD 8.30 per kg HOG, up from USD 7.90 in the previous quarter.

Atlantic Sapphire will publish its Integrated Annual and ESG Report for 2024 on 23 April 2025, followed by a webcast and operational update with Q&A.

Atlantic Sapphire is currently operating its Phase 1 Bluehouse facility in Homestead, Florida, with plans to expand annual capacity to 25,000 tonnes in Phase 2. The company aims to reach a long-term production target of 220,000 tonnes.
