Oslo-listed Faroese grower, Bakkafrost, has ordered a 75-meter feed barge from JT Electric, its second from the company, it has been learned.
“We’re pleased Bakkafrost once again has chosen this solution with us,” said Suni Justiussen, managing director at JT Electric in the Faroe Islands.
The feed barge will be delivered with a modern feed facility made by JT and equipped with a pelleting control system that offers good feed utilization.
JT will supervise the work of a shipyard in Poland that will deliver the assembly. The technology onboard was developed in the Faroe Islands and will be delivered to Poland, where it’ll be installed.
The vessel — a converted bulker — has the capacity to hold up to 800 tonnes of feed. The other JT vessel of the same type delivered to Bakkafrost in November 2017 was destined to work in the Faroe Islands.
