Benchmark Genetics has appointed former Mowi data scientist Yuanhao “Jack” Li to a newly created role as Data Analytics & Product Performance Specialist.
Li joined the salmon genetics company on 1 July and will be part of its marketing department, according to a company statement.
He spent seven years at Mowi working on data analytics across the group’s global salmon farming and value-added processing operations. Before joining the aquaculture industry, Li was an associate professor at Norwegian School of Economics and remains affiliated with its Centre for Applied Research as a researcher.
Benchmark Genetics said the newly created role is intended to strengthen its ability to document and communicate the performance of its salmon genetics programmes.
