Benchmark Genetics appoints Jon Crowther as CFO.
Benchmark Genetics has appointed Jon Crowther as chief financial officer, the company announced. The appointment comes as Benchmark Genetics begins operations as an independent company under the ownership of Novo Holdings.
Crowther, a chartered accountant who trained at PwC, has served as finance director of Benchmark Genetics since its formation in 2014. Prior to joining the company, he held senior finance roles in various sectors, including nine years as UK controller at GE.
In his new role, Crowther will oversee all aspects of financial management across Benchmark Genetics’ global operations, leading finance teams in Norway, Iceland, Chile, the USA, the UK, and Colombia.
Commenting on the transition, Crowther said the move to Novo Holdings ownership provides the company with an opportunity to take a longer-term strategic approach. “It’s great to move from the short-term reporting horizon of a publicly-quoted company to the longer-term horizon of a PE-backed business,” he said.
Benchmark Genetics provides genetic solutions for the global aquaculture industry and was previously part of Benchmark Holdings.
