Bewi reported higher revenue and earnings for the first quarter as the packaging and insulation producer also announced the appointment of Stein Inge Liasjø as chief financial officer.

Revenue for the quarter reached €198.6 million, up 6% year on year, while EBIT improved to €1.5 million from a loss of €2.9 million in the same period last year.

Adjusted EBITDA rose 44% to €22.2 million, which the company attributed to higher volumes and operational improvements.

Liasjø, who joined Bewi in 2021 and has held several senior roles including head of Packaging & Components, will replace Marie Danielsson as CFO.

CEO Christian Bekken said the company had considered both internal and external candidates before selecting Liasjø for the role.
