BIO-UV Group appoints Roy Charsley to lead global aquaculture sales strategy
Water treatment technology provider BIO-UV Group has appointed aquaculture specialist Roy Charsley as Aquaculture Market Sales Leader, a newly created role aimed at strengthening the company’s position in the global aquaculture sector.
Charsley brings over 25 years of experience in the aquaculture industry, including a three-year tenure as Operations Manager at Bakkafrost Scotland, where he oversaw the UK’s largest recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) facility and led a multi-million GBP capital development project. His previous roles include Director of Operations at Loch Duart Salmon, CEO of Dunkeld Trout Hatchery in South Africa, and Aquaculture Consultant for Blue Revolutions Africa. He also held a short-term role as Investment Manager for Aqua-Spark.
At BIO-UV Group, Charsley will be responsible for driving commercial growth in aquaculture, identifying new opportunities for its UV, ozone, and advanced oxidation water treatment solutions, and contributing to a global go-to-market strategy.
“It’s an exciting time to join BIO-UV Group,” said Charsley. “The company has a clear and compelling vision for the aquaculture sector. I’m looking forward to helping build on its strengths in UV, ozone, and AOP disinfection by applying my practical experience and industry insight to support sustainable fish farming operations worldwide.”
BIO-UV Group, headquartered in Lunel, France, manufactures water treatment systems for aquaculture, industrial wastewater, pools and spas, and ballast water. In 2024, the company reported turnover of €40 million, more than half of which came from export markets.
Charsley will visit BIO-UV’s headquarters in early April for meetings with internal teams and project leads.
President and CEO Laurent-Emmanuel Migeon said: “Roy’s experience, leadership and technical knowledge make him an exceptional addition to our team. His understanding of the complexities of aquaculture operations, coupled with a passion for innovation, aligns perfectly with our mission to deliver reliable and sustainable water treatment systems tailored to sector-specific needs.”
