BioMar Norge achieves ASC feed certification.

BioMar Norge has been awarded certification under the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) feed standard, marking what the company describes as a “milestone” in its sustainability efforts.

The certification ensures that ingredients used in BioMar’s aquafeed originate from responsible sources, such as certified fisheries or sustainable agriculture, and that all raw materials are fully traceable throughout the supply chain.

“The ASC feed standard is comprehensive and demanding, setting strict requirements for environmental and social responsibility across the entire feed production value chain,” the company said in a statement.

From October 2025, ASC-certified farming operations will be required to use ASC-certified feed, adding further significance to the certification.

“This is the result of our long-term commitment to ensuring sustainable aquafeed production—for the environment and for people,” said Håvard Yngve Jørgensen, Managing Director of BioMar Norge. “We are proud to offer our customers feed that meets the highest standards for environmental and social accountability.”

BioMar has previously achieved ASC certification at its facilities in Chile, Ecuador, and the UK. Its Norwegian factories are now also certified.
