Blumar adds a strategic local fish feed asset to its portfolio.
One of Chile’s largest industrial salmon farmers, Blumar, has closed a deal for the remaining 40% in fishmeal and fish oil processor, Pesquera Bahia Caldera, increasing its stake in the firm to 100%.
Blumar and its subsidiary Pacificblu acquired 40% of the share capital of its subsidiary Pesquera Bahía Caldera on the 3rd of October, from Sociedad de Inversiones Kipper, as reported in estrategia.cl.
The purpose of the purchase is for Blumar to acquire direct and indirect control of the feed company, since its the the only fish flour and oil plant in Chile’s northern Atacama region.
