The employees of FiiZK Protection will join Hampidjan, continuing their operations in Valsneset and Trondheim under a new company name in the coming months.
Icelandic Equipment supplier Hampidjan has announced the acquisition of Norwegian company FiiZK Protection, leader in the production and sale of salmon lice skirts, which hold an 80% market share in Norway.
This strategic purchase aims to enhance Hampidjan’s offerings in the aquaculture sector.
FiiZK Protection specializes in creating protective fabric walls for fish farms that prevent salmon lice larvae and jellyfish from entering the pens, crucially safeguarding salmon. The company operates a production facility in Valsneset, near Trondheim.
The company will operate under the FiiZK Protection banner for the next few months, but the name will be changed as the FiiZk group operates other companies under the FiiZK brand in Norway.
The Mjåtveit facility, part of FiiZK Group, will not be included in the transaction and will be transferred to FiiZK Industries . The acquisition is expected to be finalized in early September.
In 2023, FiiZK Protection recorded a turnover of NOK 100 million ($9.1 million/€8.4 million), reflecting its robust market presence.
Post-acquisition, Hampidjan plans to leverage FiiZK Protection’s expertise and expand the sales of lice skirts globally.
Hampidjan’s CEO, Hjörtur Erlendsson, expressed his satisfaction with the acquisition, noting it as a significant step in enhancing their services to the global aquaculture market.
“We are very pleased to have FiiZK Protection join the Hampidjan group, and see the purchase as an important step in the continued development of our services to the aquaculture sector, as we already have very strong activities related to aquaculture in many parts of the world, especially in the North-Atlantic Ocean. Now we can offer an even wider range of products and services to fish farming companies, further strengthening Hampidjan’s position in this important market,” he said.
