Vancouver-based aquaculture technology company Poseidon Ocean Systems has agreed a distribution partnership with Norwegian technology supplier, Fjord Miljø.
The deal is aimed at expanding the reach of Poseidon’s Life Support & Hybrid sea cage technology in Norway, according to a press release from the Canadian company on Tuesday.
The collaboration is designed to provide Norwegian customers with access to Poseidon’s solutions, in combination with Fjord Miljø’s service and expertise.

Poseidon’s aquaculture technologies include the “Flowpressor” and “Oxypressor” systems, which produce a high rate of oxygen flow, and the patent-pending “Depth Charge” system, which fully dissolves supplied oxygen into the water. This ensures continuous availability of oxygen for the fish while maximizing efficiency and reducing energy consumption and emissions.
Jamie Gaskill, CEO of Poseidon, expressed excitement about the collaboration and hailed the synergies between the two companies.
“The Poseidon team is thrilled to announce this partnership as we have so many shared values with the Fjord Miljø team. So many of our products pair seamlessly together; for instance, Poseidon’s industry leading Life Support systems will enable the use of deep lice skirts, of which Fjord Miljø is a leading supplier. We look forward to Norwegian customers having access to our technologies” said Gaskill.
Arild Heggland, Sales & Marketing Manager of Fjord Miljø, emphasized the importance of expanding the range of choices for Norwegian farmers.
“With evolving regulatory and operational changes, as well as changing environmental conditions, increasing the portfolio of technology options available to Norwegian farmers will allow them to advance their operations and improve their biological results,” he said.
Fjord Miljø has been developing and providing sustainable environmental solutions to the farming industry since 2017, with a focus on cage environment, fish welfare, and growth in open sea facilities.
