Eide will report directly to Helene Ziv-Douki, head of Cargill’s Aquaculture Division.

Feed producing giant Cargill Aqua Nutrition has announced the promotion of Tarjei Eide to the role of Managing Director for its North Sea and Canada business, effective January 1, 2024.

In his new position, Eide will oversee the operations of Cargill’s fish feed production in Norway, Scotland, and Canada. He will also join the global leadership team and report directly to Helene Ziv-Douki, head of Cargill’s Aquaculture Division.

Eide, who currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the division, will succeed Fredrik Witte, who is leaving the company after a nine-year tenure.

Eide expressed enthusiasm about his new role, acknowledging the challenges the industry faces and the need for innovative solutions in the coming years. His promotion follows his role as finance lead for Cargill Aqua Nutrition North Sea & Canada since 2018, after a decade in management consulting.

Fredrik Witte, the current Managing Director, will remain in his role until the end of 2023 before moving on to pursue opportunities outside the aquaculture industry.

Ziv-Douki praised Eide as the “planned and natural successor” for Witte, expressing confidence in his ability to lead the division and support customer growth during a pivotal time for the industry.
