Short period in the chief’s chair for Linda L. Aase.

The chairman of the board announces today that Frode Arntsen has been appointed CEO of fish farming giant SalMar after Linda Aase has informed the board that she wishes to resign from the position as CEO.

Linda L. Aase started her job as CEO at the beginning of May.

Arntsen has been part of SalMar since 2017 as executive vice president for Sales & Industry. He has worked in the seafood industry since 2000 and has previously held various management positions in a number of seafood companies.

“SalMar is one of the world’s most efficient farming companies and has delivered a solid operational performance during Aase’s time as CEO. We thank Aase for her time at SalMar,” says chairman Gustav Witzøe in an annoucement.

“I would also like to personally thank Aase for his efforts as CEO. At the same time, I am very happy that we have got a perfectly good replacement. I am confident that Frode Arntsen will lead the group in an excellent manner.”

“I am highly motivated and ready to take on the task of leading one of the world’s best fish farming companies. The task will be to ensure that the strong development in SalMar continues. We are a committed team with more than 1,900 competent employees who work every day to deliver healthy and sustainable seafood to the whole world, so I am looking forward to this,” says Frode Arntsen.

“SalMar has a very capable and stable operational management which, together with all the employees, will ensure the continuity and development power going forward,” says Gustav Witzøe.

SalmonBusiness has contacted Linda L. Aase for a comment on her departure.

“SalMar has a fantastic team and is well equipped for the journey ahead, but the right thing for the company was for me to step aside. I do not have the opportunity to go into the details of my decision, other than to say that it has nothing to do with the ground rent case. Here, the company and I have a unified view,” she says.
