After living for a year thinking their place of work would close, staff at Cermaq’s slaughter house in Oksnes might now have learned there may be a £1.82million bid for their process plant from potential new owners.
Norwegian Oksnesavisa writes that locals may have succeeded in attracting the bid from Oyfisk.
“I cannot comment on the amount, as we’re bound by confidentiality agreement now that we’re in dialogue with the seller.,” Oyfisk manager Kristian Klo told the newspaper.
“What I can confirm is that we’ve been in dialogue with Cermaq on conditions for takeover of their slaughterhouse in Alsvaag.”
