Chilean salmon export to Brasil grows

Chilean salmon exports to Brasil have increased by 78 percent since 2012, reports Mundo Acuícola.

The value of those exports increased by 86 percent over the same period a year ago to USD 524 million. Last year, export to Brasil decreased by 14 percent in volume (year 2016 versus 2015) due to sector-wide problems related to a  harmfull algae bloom, although the value of those exported volumes showed an increase of 9 percent.

Brasil is the third-largest export destination for fresh and frozen Chilean salmon, after the United States and Japan.
