“There are two workers too, who shared work, a shared room, a cabin and a casino with the third confirmed case”.

Corporativa reports that the Institute of Public Health confirmed two new cases of Covid-19 in the southern Chile region of Aysén from two workers from a construction company while carrying out works in a salmon farm located on the coast. These were linked to another patient who was confirmed on Monday.

“These are the two closest cases or contacts that were related to our third positive Covid-19 case: there are two workers too, who shared work, a shared room, a cabin and a casino with the third confirmed case,” said the Health Ministry, Alejandra Valdebenito.

With the workers, both 58 years old, one of them is undergoing treatment and the other is asymptomatic.

The publication reported that the first patient threatened the rest of the workers with a knife, which led him to be arrested and isolated.

On Monday, SalmonBusiness reported that the salmon farmer Blumar confirmed its first case confirmed of the COVID-19 of one of its workers further north at the Talcahuano Plant, Biobío region, Central Chile.

Residents in Chile’s salmon farming regions have been pictured preventing the transit of vehicles linked to the industry because of fears of the spread of the coronavirus.
