Cuna del Mar-backed aquaculture technology provider Innovasea has appointed Rudi Seim as managing director of its Norway operations, based in Bergen.

Seim joins Innovasea from Benchmark Genetics, where he worked as head of production for Norway and global fish health.

“Rudi was an ideal choice to lead our Norwegian business,” said Innovasea CEO David Kelly. “Not only does he have a great understanding of the market and strong contacts throughout the industry, but his background in genetics and egg production brings another area of expertise to Innovasea.”

With over 15 years in the global aquaculture industry, Seim will oversee business development, sales, field service, and customer support in Norway.

Seim, who holds degrees in economics, executive management, and aquamedicine, is enthusiastic about contributing to Innovasea’s technological advancements in fish farming.

“I’ve long been impressed by Innovasea’s commitment to R&D and its ability to drive technological advancements in the fish farming industry, and now I’ll get to be a part of that from the inside.”

In addition to Innovasea, Cuna Del Mar’s holdings include farming groups Earth Ocean Farms, Open Blue, Blue Ocean Mariculture and Sol Azul.

Cuna Del Mar is backed by prominent American philanthropist and entrepreneur Christy Walton.
