Nutreco appoints Bastiaan van Tilburg as CEO.

Nutreco chief executive David Blakemore will step down on 1 September and will be succeeded by Bastiaan van Tilburg.

Blakemore came out of retirement in 2022 to lead Nutreco’s focus on customer value and prepare the company for its next stage of growth. “Having the opportunity to lead this great business has been a privilege,” he said.

Van Tilburg has been with Nutreco for nearly eight years, most recently as chief operating officer of aquaculture. He previously held senior roles at Trouw Nutrition and worked at SHV-owned Makro in Brazil and at Royal Dutch Shell.

“It’s a fantastic honour to lead Nutreco,” said van Tilburg. “Our company has a very meaningful role to play in the food system, and I know that we still have a lot of untapped potential to unlock together.”

Nutreco said Maarten Bijl, currently chief digital officer, will succeed van Tilburg as chief executive of Skretting.
