Skretting awarded ASC Feed Standard certification by DNV.
Skretting has received certification under the new ASC Feed Standard, becoming one of the first aquafeed manufacturers to meet the Aquaculture Stewardship Council’s updated requirements. The certification was formally awarded by DNV at a ceremony during Seafood Expo Global in Barcelona.
The ASC Feed Standard introduces comprehensive criteria for responsible aquafeed production, covering environmental management, social responsibility, and the sourcing of raw materials. From 31 October 2025, ASC-certified farms will be required to use feed produced in accordance with the new standard.
Sergio Alanis, Managing Director for Skretting’s Southern Europe business unit, said the certification strengthens the company’s position as a trusted supplier to ASC-certified producers. “The ASC Feed Standard provides a robust methodology to better identify and mitigate legal, environmental, and social risks,” he said.
DNV’s Stefano Crea, Global Market and Industries Director, said the certification promotes “transparency, traceability, and continuous improvement” in aquafeed production.
Skretting is part of Nutreco and operates production facilities in 18 countries, supplying feed for more than 60 aquaculture species. Its annual production volume exceeds three million tonnes.
