Leadership changes at Euronext’s salmon futures desk.
Euronext Oslo Børs has announced changes to its salmon futures team in Bergen, formerly known as Fish Pool.
Deepo Singh has been appointed head of the salmon futures desk, taking over from Simen Thorbeck, who will leave Euronext on 1 January 2026 to continue developing the salmon futures market at DNB Carnegie.
The Fish Pool name has now ceased to exist as a legal entity following its merger with Euronext Oslo Børs on 9 April 2025. Singh, who has worked with salmon futures since the Fish Pool era, will lead the Bergen team alongside Christine Bentzen, who joined on 6 October from S-Banken. Euronext said recruitment is underway for a third team member.
Singh reports to Øivind Amundsen, CEO of Euronext Oslo Børs, while product responsibility for salmon futures rests with Robin Maisonneuve, Head of Agricultural Derivatives at Euronext.
“I look forward to leading Euronext’s salmon futures desk in Bergen. My goal is to support both industry and financial participants in managing price risk efficiently,” Singh said in a statement. “Together with Christine and the wider commodities team, we will continue to serve the salmon sector by strengthening educational initiatives and improving market liquidity.”
Thorbeck said he remains confident in the market’s long-term potential. “Effective hedging tools are crucial for the value chain, and I look forward to continuing to support clients and market activity at DNB Carnegie,” he said.
Salmon futures, previously traded under the Fish Pool brand, are owned by Oslo Børs, part of the French exchange group Euronext. In 2024, Euronext launched euro-denominated salmon contracts on its commodities exchange.
