Former Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-Moon, will be keynote speaker at AquaVision 2018 in Stavanger, Norway, organizers of the event — including feed producer, Skretting — have announced.
Ban will talk about “food security” and the need for global food production to grow 70 percent by 2050, a UN Food Organization number.
The conference will explore ways aquaculture can contribute to feeding a growing world population “sustainably”.
The AquaVision — organised by Skretting and its parent company Nutreco since 1996 — runs from June 11th to 12th. Some 400 delegates from about 40 countries are expected.
