The company has plans to introduce hydrogen trucks with even greater range in the near future.

In a move towards greater environmental sustainability, Skretting Norway has embarked on an innovative collaboration with freight company SR Group by loading their first feed bags onto an all-electric feed truck.

Despite facing the heaviest snowfall Stavanger has seen in recent years, the company successfully initiated the eco-friendly initiative last week.

Cold conditions are noted for their negative effect on the performance of batteries in electric vehicles, but the all electric truck delivered feed to Hima Seafood’s trout facility in Rjukan, more than 300 kilometers away from Skrettings base in Stavanger without a hitch.

In a post on LinkedIn, the feed giant celebrated the venture as marking a significant step in reducing the carbon footprint of the aquaculture industry.

Not content to rest on its laurels, the company has further plans to introduce hydrogen trucks with larger capacity in the near future.
