The longstanding partnership between Ferguson Transport & Shipping and Mowi Scotland continues to strengthen with the delivery of new liveried Volvo Trucks and tanker trailers designed for the bespoke haulage of fresh salmon.

Ferguson Transport & Shipping has begun taking delivery of two Euro 6 low-emission Volvo Trucks in Mowi colors, along with 10 new Crossland fish tanker trailers. An additional four tractor units will join the fleet in the coming months to transport fresh Mowi salmon from various ports, including the company’s salmon harvest station in Mallaig. The complete fleet is expected to be delivered over the next 12 months.

Scott Nolan, Sales and Operations Director at Mowi, emphasized the importance of quality and freshness in maintaining their position as the UK’s number one seafood choice and highest valued food export. “The service provided by Lochaber’s Ferguson Transport & Shipping is vital to our success, with 40 percent of all Scottish salmon processed through our dedicated facility in Fort William. It will be fantastic to see these units on the road,” he said.

Alasdair Ferguson, Group Managing Director of Ferguson Transport & Shipping, remarked on the significance of the new liveried vehicles: “The new liveried vehicles and tanks in Mowi colors recognize Ferguson Transport’s proud history of hauling fresh salmon for Mowi since 1996. This partnership and collaboration have been forged over many years, investing in people and equipment for the future.”

He also expressed gratitude for the trust and support shown by Mowi, crediting the staff of both companies for their continuous efforts in managing logistics and operations. “Great credit must go to the staff of both companies who manage the logistics and operations 24/7 to supply a sustainable protein fish diet to the UK and abroad. We are delighted to play our part.”
