Former Mowi and Aquabyte exec begins tenure as CEO of major exporter

Andreas Mikalsen has begun his tenure at Norwegian processed salmon supplier Sekkingstad.

The former Mowi exec brings a wealth of experience from various leadership and commercial roles, including in food retail at Lidl International and COOP in Norway, and AI/aquatech startup Aquabyte. He has also been a board member with the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) for four years.

In a LinkedIn post, Mikalsen expressed his enthusiasm for his new role. “I’m looking forward to meeting all my new colleagues, customers, suppliers, and other partners. It’s a privilege to work with this superfood 🐟 and amazing team ❤️!” he wrote.

Mikalsen also extended his gratitude to Aquabyte for the valuable experiences and insights gained during his tenure, especially in AI/ML aqua tech for fish farming.

Former MD Bård Sekkingstad, takes up the role of CEO at Trient, the parent company of Sekkingstad and Skagerak.

Trient, through its subsidiaries Sekkingstad and Skagerak, handles the processing and sale of approximately 60,000 metric tons of salmon products annually across its facilities in Norway and Denmark.
