Former PwC partner and Director General at the Norwegian Ministry of Fisheries joins Seafood People

Management consulting and executive search firm Seafood People has appointed Torben Foss, former Deputy Director General of Fisheries and partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) to the company’s Global Executive Advisor Network (GEAN).

The GEAN is comprised of senior seafood executives with subject matter expertise who partner with Seafood People to execute global projects and client initiatives.

Foss brings extensive experience from the Norwegian and international seafood industry. He has previously served as Deputy Director General and Director General at the Ministry of Fisheries. After his tenure at the Ministry of Fisheries, Foss joined PwC as an attorney and partner, where he established and led the fisheries department.

He has vast experience in transactions within the fisheries industry and in areas where legal matters intersects with politics. Foss played a central role when the European Economic Area (EEA) Agreement was concluded. He is intimately familiar with its opportunities and limitations and is considered one of Norway’s most experienced legal experts in matters concerning the relationship between the Norwegian seafood industry and the EU.

Throughout his career, Foss has served as a legal and strategic advisor to a wide range of Norwegian and international companies in the fishing, aquaculture, and fish processing sectors, as well as to banks and private equity funds with interests in the seafood industry.

Torben Foss holds a Cand.jur. degree from the University of Oslo, has completed the Aspirant Course at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and is a member of the Norwegian Bar Association.
