Therese Log Bergjord, former Managing Director of Norwegian aquaculture company Skretting, has joined the Board of Directors of Kverva, the investment group backed by salmon billionaire Gustav Witzøe.

Bergjord announced her new role on LinkedIn on Tuesday.

Kverva is known for its significant investments in the seafood industry and other sectors, and Bergjord’s addition to the board is expected to bolster the company’s leadership.

Kverva is a privately owned Norwegian investment company focused on generating returns through strategic investments. The company is organized into three investment platforms: Kverva Seafood, Kverva Investments, and Kverva Capital. Kverva plays an active role in its portfolio companies, contributing expertise, experience, and capital to drive growth and sustainability.

Founded in 1991 as a holding company for its stake in SalMar, Kverva has grown alongside SalMar, which is now the second-largest salmon producer in the world. Kverva remains the largest shareholder in the publicly listed company. In 2006, Kverva sold a portion of its stake in SalMar, using the proceeds to diversify its investments. By 2007, Kverva had established itself as an industrial investment company with a broader portfolio, particularly in marine and aquaculture businesses. The company continues to invest with a focus on long-term value creation.
