French retail giant Leclcerc has announced that it is recalling products from its Ronde des Mers salmon lined.

The Norewegian salmon, produced as part of its private label Scamark, went on sale on 19th September and has since been pulled from its stores across France due to fears about the bacteria.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection caused by eating food contaminated with the bacteria. Symptoms can include high temperature, aches and pains, chills, stomach upset or more serious problems in children or over 65s.

The packs, which weighs 210g and is made up of six slices of salmon, were removed alongside a number of other products, including baby milk, chocolate eclairs and fruit compotes.
