Gaia Salmon appoints Trine Sæther Romuld as CEO.
Gaia Salmon has appointed Trine Sæther Romuld as its new CEO, effective 24 June 2025. She succeeds Erik Hernes, who has led the land-based post-smolt producer since 2022.
The company stated that Hernes is stepping down for family reasons and will remain available to Gaia Salmon in an advisory capacity through the end of 2025.
Romuld joins from her role as CFO at SalMar Aker Ocean. She has previously held senior financial positions at SalMar, Marine Harvest (now Mowi), and KPMG, where she was a partner and office lead in Stavanger.
She holds a master’s degree in accounting and auditing from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) and has extensive board experience, primarily with listed companies.
Chairman Roald Dolmen said the leadership transition is being carried out in an orderly manner and that Romuld’s strategic and operational expertise will be instrumental in the continued development of Gaia Salmon. The company’s production facility on Træna will remain a key focus going forward.
