Garware Technical Fibres Chile appoints Ricardo Gálvez to strengthen commercial team.
Garware Technical Fibres Chile has appointed Ricardo Gálvez Oyarce as a new commercial executive, reinforcing its sales team as part of a broader strategy to support continued growth in the Chilean aquaculture market.
The company, a subsidiary of India-based Garware Technical Fibres, said the hire reflects its commitment to expanding its footprint in Chile, a key market for salmon farming equipment and services.
“In Chile, we’ve experienced sustained growth over the last decade, and with our innovation, we’ve transformed the products used in the salmon farming industry,” said Gopakumar Menon, President of Americas. “Ricardo’s arrival seeks to strengthen Garware’s growth and expansion, in line with our commercial strategy and the goal of maintaining and deepening our customer service.”
Gálvez holds a degree in civil engineering from the University of Chile and a master’s degree in business administration from the Austral University of Chile. His previous roles span maritime brokerage, industrial waste management, and commercial leadership at Ventisqueros and Procter & Gamble.
“This is a new challenge for me in my career, and I approach it with great enthusiasm,” Gálvez said. “Garware has high-quality products and is implementing best practices in innovation, sustainability, market expansion, and great teamwork.”
As part of his induction, Gálvez travelled to India to attend Garware’s international business meeting and annual company day, and to familiarise himself with the company’s headquarters, manufacturing operations, and leadership team.
In addition to serving the aquaculture sector, Garware has recently begun selling nets for sports, agriculture, security, and industrial applications in Chile. The expanded team is expected to help the company stay closer to its customers and respond more effectively to operational challenges across sectors.
