Grieg Seafood comms chief appointed press secretary to Bergen city government.
Kristina Furnes, Group Director of Communications at Grieg Seafood, has been appointed as political adviser and press secretary to the Bergen city government (byrådet).
Furnes, 38, will take up the new role on 11 August.
“Kristina was my first choice,” said Bergen’s chief commissioner (byrådsleder), Christine B. Meyer. “She has highly relevant education and experience for the role, and I look forward to having her on the team from the autumn.”
In addition to her tenure at Grieg Seafood, Furnes previously worked at communications agency Geelmuyden Kiese. She holds a master’s degree in political science from the University of Oslo and an Executive MBA in financial management and leadership from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH).
She also served as an intern at the Norwegian Embassy in Saudi Arabia and currently holds positions in One Ocean Bergen and the Bergen Chamber of Commerce, alongside past political roles in the Conservative Party (Høyre).
